What Does an Initial Treatment from Insight Pest Solutions Look Like?

When it comes to using Insight Pest Solutions for your pest control needs, there are numerous steps that our technicians take during the initial treatment. In this article, we will discuss what you can expect when working with a member of our team and how our process works in full detail.

Comprehensive Inspection

At the start of your treatment, a trained technician will perform a thorough sweep of the area. This allows our technicians to notice any signs of potential entryways for pests, areas that may need extra attention, and any signs of current infestations.

Interior Application

After the technician has inspected the home, an application will be added to the interior of the home. You can expect your technician to spray along the floorboards of your home in each room or any area with a problem. Our interior application is pet and kid-friendly. You do not need to worry about taking any precautions or making accommodations when your technician performs this part of the process. Please just avoid the treated areas until dry.

Exterior Application

Following the interior application, your technician will promptly move outside to spray the exterior of your home. Your technician will follow the foundation of the home, spraying approximately three feet up the home and three feet away from the home. This gives the home a greater barrier of protection against pests.

Eave Sweep

Your technician will then use a brush-like tool to remove any wasp cones, spider webs, cobwebs, and any other debris from the home. A dry dust product is also applied to the structure’s exterior to provide further control of crawling insects, wasps, and hornets.

Granulation Application

A dry granular product will then be applied approximately ten feet away from the footprint of the home. This product helps extend the line of defense against pests and is an added benefit when it comes to controlling soil-borne insects, fleas & ticks.

Crawl-space Inspection

After the technician applies the granulation application, they will then thoroughly inspect your crawl space. Crawl spaces are common areas for pests, like rodents, to infest as this area is oftentimes left undisturbed and provides adequate warmth and protection. Your technician will ensure that your area is safe and that all entry points for pests are tightly sealed.

Place Rodent Bait Stations

Lastly, your technician will strategically place rodent bait stations to help effectively control the population of rodents in your area. Our technicians are knowledgeable when it comes to placing bait stations and are aware of any potential entry points throughout your home’s exterior.

It is important to note that our applications do not always have an immediate impact on pests. The products used often take time to properly affect the pests in or around your home. Commonly, people may perceive an increase in pest activity shortly after the treatment is performed. This part of the process is completely normal. When you see pests making an appearance after the treatment is performed, you can rest assured that the process is working. Pests may recognize that they and their home is under attack. The insects will then try to evacuate the area, forcing them out of walls or any hiding spots, and will quickly leave.
